Alcoholic Sherbert Delight for Anne Brontë

Cocktail: Alcoholic Sherbert Delight. Combine 5 oz orange juice, 2 oz Absolut Mandrin vodka, 2 oz spiced rum, 1 oz gin and 2 dashes grenadine syrup in a highball glass. Be sure to make your first pour the OJ. Serve and delight.

Inspired by Author of the Day, Anne Brontë’s novel, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. Considered a classic, this book is fantastically gothic with its  alcoholism, marital breakdown, and the position of women all set in Victorian society. Based some on dealing with her brother, Brontë’s novel scandalized then and still grips readers today. Indulge!

Black Witch for Graham Masterton

Cocktail: Black Witch. Shake 1.5 oz gold rum with a splashes of apricot brandy, dark rum and pineapple juice in with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass.  

Inspired by Author of the Day, Graham Masterton, a horror author notable for dark humor and great plotting.  The 5^th Witch Black is a great thriller for those who enjoy witching, mobsters and magic.

Spiced Apple Martini

In a mixing glass, add 2.5oz rum, 2oz apple juice, 1/2oz Amaretto, 2 pinches ground cinnamon and ices cubes.

Shake vigorously and strain into a superfine sugar and ground cinnamon rimmed chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick.

A Pimp Named Slickback

Combine 1 oz triple sec, 1/2 oz white or light rum, 1 oz Rose’s lime juice and a splash of Amaretto in a wine goblet with sugared rim.

Hold up to light and swirl contemplatively. Get your groove on.

7 Coconuts

Nice and easy.

Stir 3-4 oz Malibu rum with 12 oz chilled 7-Up in tall/Collins glass and serve.

Acapulcoco

Shake & strain 1 oz gold tequila, 1 oz Kahlua, 2/3 oz dark rum and 1/2 oz coconut cream into a cocktail glass.
